Following the success of the 1998 Kentucky Friends of Karst/IGCP#379 Meeting, the Hoffman Environmental Research Institute at Western Kentucky University and Cave Research Foundation are pleased to host the International Conference on Karst Hydrogeology and Ecosystems, June 3-6, 2003. Despain#1 by Alan Glennon (6K) The meeting's purpose is to foster communication between international groups seeking to understand the nature of karst systems.

In addition to scientific sessions and field excursions, business meetings are being arranged for individual international karst commissions, including

  • International Geological Correlation Program, Project 448: World Correlation of Karst Geology and Its Relevant Ecosystems
  • International Association of Hydrogeologists Karst Commission
  • International Geographical Union Karst Commission
  • International Union of Speleology Karst Hydrogeology and Speleogenesis Commission
